Multi-City Search Tips

When is it beneficial to use Multi-City?
- When you have more than two flight sectors (destinations).
E.g. if you would like to go from Europe to New York, then to Los Angeles and back to Europe again from San Francisco.

- When you are flying out and back from different destinations (or back to another city than your origin).

- To obtain cheaper fares by using the option to make a stopover on a fare instead of buying separate tickets.
E.g. if you travel Europe - Dubai - Sydney - Europe the stop-over in Dubai will be free and you only pay for the return ticket to Sydney.

Make sure your routing is onwards (logical)
In order to get the cheapest fares you should not backtrack (go back) but travel in the same direction.
For instance you should not fly from Europe to Chicago, then to New York and then to Los Angeles.

Use land transportation if you know you will be travelling around
Instead of going back to the city where you landed you might benefit from continuing your journey from another city.
Below you can find two examples where land transportation could give you more time to explore instead of spending valuable time going back to the same city you already visited:
Europe - Bangkok // Singapore - Europe
Europe - New York // Boston - Los Angeles // San Francisco - Europe
// = land transportation (for instance by car or train)

Alter your dates and routing
Prices can vary according to dates and days (weekend or not) and how full the flights are. So try different travel dates to see if fares change for the better.
Normally the bigger cities have more airline traffic than the smaller cities thus making competition harder. If possible try to make your stopovers in the big cities as there will be more options and cheaper fares.
